This album was inspired by the long still winter nights by lake Wakatipu, where I've been spending my winter days busking in Queenstown. The biggest challenge is getting through the nights! This is the original acoustic version of this album. It was recorded in my van on my busking piano, using very simple battery powered recording gear.
This album captures the moments in a very real and pure way, however, the inspiration from this time was sufficient to also create a studio album of the same compositions. So I decided to do two albums, one acoustic, live, recorded under the stars by the lake, by candle light during the long and freezing nights, the other, lush, carefully sculpted, and full of studio layers and depth. I hope you will enjoy both!
